I believe that the world won’t end in 2012. As to what basis there is from which people have inferred and concluded that the world will end in 2012, I don’t clearly understand. But if these people who have formulated this “prophecy” and those who believed and still believes in it, claim to be Christians, I am strongly disappointed.
I have only one basis that the world is not going to end in December 20, 2012: God’s Word. The Bible, specifically in the New Testament, says that Jesus will come as a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 3:3; Revelation 16:15) and it also states that NO ONE KNOWS when the Lord will come (Matthew 24:42; Revelation 3:3). So why bother believing “basis-driven prophecies” or any “theories” of when the Lord is coming? Shame on people who claim to be Christians and yet spoil everyone’s day by telling them that they only have a few months before the world ends.
Boo to the people who tell you to do everything that you want to do before you die: drink and be merry, steal, lie, cheat, and all those negative things, all those sins. Boo to them, for they persuade people to do sins just so they could feel good. I tell you, if you think you are living your life to the fullest and yet you don’t have a strong relationship, or any relationship with Him at all, then you are not living your life the way you thought you are. A life without God is not a life worth living at all.
People who are afraid that the world will end specifically have one thing in common: fear of death. They don’t know where they are going to be after they die. If you know where you are headed, I assure you, you will not be afraid.
