Top Ten Tuesdays: Top 10 Favorite (English) Movie Lines

September 3, 2013

I’ve been on a movie spree for the past days and I can’t help but take on my favorite movie lines for my Top Ten Tuesdays. These are lines/scenes in my favorite movies which I have memorized from watching the films over and over again because of it’s huge impact on me.

Rapunzel: I’ve been looking out of the window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it’s not everything I dreamed it would be.
Flynn: It will be.
Rapunzel: and what if it is? What do I do then?
Flynn: Well, that’s the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream
– Tangled (1)

Noah: Would you just stay with me?
Allie: Stay with you? What for? Look at us! We’re already fighting!
Noah: Well that’s what we do! We fight! You tell me when I’m being an arrogant son of a b*tch and I tell you when you’re being a pain in the a**! Which you are, 99% of the time. I’m not afraid to hurt your feelings, you have like a two-second rebound rate and you’re back doing the next pain in the a** thing.
Allie: So, what?
Noah: So it’s not gonna be easy, it’s gonna be really hard. And we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I wanna do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever. You and me. Everyday.
The Notebook (2)

Sometimes, the thing you want most doesn’t happen. And sometimes, the thing you never expect does… I don’t know. You meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you. And then you meet one person and your life is changed… forever. – Jamie Randall, Love and Other Drugs (3)

There are those who say that fate is something beyond our command. That our destinies are not our own. But I know better. Our fate lives within us. You only have to be brave enough to see it.
– Merida, Brave (4)

You know we’re going to be together one day, we just have to sort through all of our messed up issues first. – Sally Howe, The Art of Getting By (5)

Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80’s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life. – Olive Pendhergast, Easy A (6)

Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. – Yoda, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (7)

How do you look at the person you love and tell yourself it’s time to walk away. – Leo, The Vow (8)

You know, the smallest thing can change a life. In the blink of an eye, something happens by chance – and when you least expect it – since we’re on a course that you could have never planned, into a future you never imagined. Where will it take you? That’s the journey of our lives: our search for the light. But sometimes, finding the light means you must past through the deepest darkness. At least, that’s how it was for me. – Logan, The Lucky One (9)

Don’t let anyone ever make you feel like you don’t deserve what you want. – 10 Things I Hate About You (10)

Obviously most are about love (but believe me I tried so hard to not let it focus on one topic but I failed though). I srsly need a place to write them all down so I won’t forget. It took me a hard time to “screen” which ones I’ll be including in this post. Well anyway, next week, I’ll give you my top ten favorite Tagalog movie lines!
