I’ve been seeing posts about Heneral Luna since the other week. I even saw the poster when we went to the mall that same week (but it was a very awkward week since my money was almost gone – our payroll hasn’t been processed yet so my boyfriend and I couldn’t watch). Just last week, I saw posts saying that it has been pulled out in some cinemas because it wasn’t really grossing. I got scared because I might not be able to watch it come Saturday. When that issue spread like wildfire, I suddenly read good reviews and positive feedback about the movie. It was crystal clear: I wanted to watch. Slash wanted. I NEEDED TO WATCH. But I had work and I still need to go home (from Makati to Cubao) so I prayed and I prayed really hard that it’ll still be on cinemas come Saturday because that’s the only time I can watch. And because of the viral posts and tweets and the outpouring support of how great a movie it is, it was still extended. So thank God for an answered prayer!
I really don’t know how to start with this blog post because I haven’t actually organized my thoughts and my sentiments on this movie. Although I’m not really a fan of student-teacher intimate relationships, and I really couldn’t relate to the first few scenes of the movie because I don’t have any experience of crushing on a teacher/professor, I did feel kilig vibes immediately. Star Cinema used that “I LOVE YOU PIOLO!” which Toni Gonzaga was famously known for before she became a TV host and actress and turned it into “I LOVE YOU SIR MARCO!” which was really apt for the film.
So my Mum and I watched Bride for Rent just last Saturday and I still can’t contain myself from all the kilig vibes I felt because of Rocky and Rocco. As far as you have noticed, this is the second movie post here in my blog and I can’t help but be all giddy every time scenes from the movie run through my mind even in the slightest flashbacks.
Disclaimer: This is not a movie review so don’t expect something so formal. 🙂
After all the posts and the stories I was able to see, read and hear both in the internet and from people, I decided to watch It Takes a Man and a Woman. I won’t go on telling you the summary of the story, but I encourage you to know it yourself.
