Cindy Berry’s I Will Keep My Eyes on You is playing on the background, and I think it is a song that’s most apt for tonight’s Scripture Sunday verse. Colossians 3:2 is one of the many verses I cherish so deeply because of its truth in my life.
I’ll try my very best to blog about any verse I encountered throughout my daily devotions each week and post it here on some Sundays.
This Sunday’s verse for Scripture Sunday is Luke 18:1. I won’t assume everyone knows the story about The Parable of the Persistent Widow though I think it is well-known. It’s a short one so this is going to be a quick read. A widow kept coming to a judge who does not fear God and respect man. She was asking for justice against a person who wronged her and went to him not only once, but a lot of times. The judge, seemingly bothered by this and to avoid her continual coming, just gave her what she asked for.
Tonight’s verse for my Scripture Sundays is one of my many favorite verses (believe me when I say many, I mean MANY). Second Corinthians 12:9 is a constant reminder that God would not give us any situation (a problem, a test, etc.) if He knows we can’t handle it. He gives us what is due us. When we are weak, then He is strong. He gives grace, patience and strength whenever we feel discouraged and weak because of life’s toils and travails.
I’ve been really blessed the past week, although I’ve been experiencing a lot of personal struggles. I thank the Lord for giving me strength to carry on. Philippians 4:13 is forever my weapon. Anyway, I finished the book of Romans this week and started with 1 Corinthians (for Bible reading only). I picked out a short but meaningful verse out of my reading for this week!
