Top Ten Tuesdays: My Top 10 Tweets

August 20, 2013

I’ve been on Twitter since 2009. Back when it wasn’t much of a big deal, and only a few of my friends were active in social media. I can’t help but laugh everytime I backread my tweets. Unfortunately, I was so consistent in replying to different Hollywood actors and actresses I was following back then (come on, I was 16 then, well, technically, because I haven’t celebrated my birthday yet when I created it).

For my Top Ten Tuesdays night, I chose 10 tweets (two from each year) that really caught my attention. No, it did not get thousands of retweets or favorites, but I still remember quite vividly why I tweeted these. You might wonder how I got a copy of my own tweets, I advise you download a copy of your own Twitter archive! 🙂

It was the second month of my college life when I tweeted this. I remember being so attached to my high school friends that I didn’t want to open up to my college block mates (yes, it was that intense). But anyway, I grew up and I realized that things can’t be the way they are forever. Change is the only thing that’s constant in this world.

Notice the #fb. I was using an app called tweetitow back then to update my Twitter and Facebook. Well technically, I signed up just so I could update my Facebook Status through the Selective Tweets app. This is from Max Ehrmann’s Desiderata. Go Google it, if you don’t know it! You’re missing out on one beautiful piece of poetry.

I forgot where I read this quote. You see, I have this habit of tweeting quotes or lines from movies and books which I find meaningful. And this is just one of those many wonderful quotes I’ve come across three years ago.

Second year, first semester. I remember losing sleep just to solve for different Physics problems. You see, I’m not really into Science. College Physics gave me a hard time because it was so unlike High School Physics.

One of my random-realizations-while-riding-on-the-jeepney-on-the-way-to-school tweets. Years 2010 and 2011 were pretty hard on me. But 2012 was incomparable.

Can I please point out how amazing God’s sovereignty is? I’m so blessed to have this much faith. I’ve learned along the way that He does things for our own good no matter how painful it may be.

This was the week I renewed my commitment to Him. It wasn’t an easy thing. And I’ve failed Him a lot of times, but He still remained faithful to me. I am forever thankful.

This is the typical me. I’m not good at everything. But there are some parts of me that are excellent. Everytime I’m given something, I try hard, with all my might. And if that’s enough, then I try more than I did before. I don’t give up that easily, especially if I know that what I’m working on or what I’m fighting for is important.

I tweeted this when we were in Laguna for the National Innovation Conference on Education  2013 last January. I started my year right with a productive conference with the best bunch of people ever! There was never a dull moment with them.

I’m a writer (or so I think). And this kind of feeling really annoys me. Most of the time this happens when I can’t really put into words what I feel when my sentiments are so intense.

That’s it! These are just a few of my self-proclaimed substantive tweets. Follow me on Twitter! I assure you my Twitter noise is tantamount to what I make in real life. Tweet me anything once you’ve read this! 😉
