Certified Positive Prayer Journal + Giveaway!

September 10, 2015

I’m a prayer warrior. I’d like to call myself that as I developed a deep love for prayer a few years back. I used a small notebook just to keep track of people or things I should pray for, then cross them out when they get answered, and clearly I was reminded of God’s omnipotence and mercy as He answered prayers in the span of days, weeks, and months. That was just a small piece of notebook with nothing but bulleted prayer requests for each month. But I cherished it deeply.

If you can remember, I wrote about deciding to keep a spiritual journal for 2014. I’m really THAT old-fashioned that I prefer writing on paper rather than depending on apps for that. Aside from what happened to me during the day, I also included things to pray for at the end of each entry.

While I was browsing Facebook last month, I saw that Certified Positive will be releasing a Prayer Journal! And what joy, what joy, I felt!

I partnered with them before for a giveaway last year and I really love the mission and vision of their store. That’s why I didn’t think twice to pre-order mine! So if you’re like me, who’s constantly looking for ways to have a deeper relationship with Christ, let me show you what’s in store for you when you buy a copy of their Prayer Journal!

The first few pages contain a quote about prayer, What is Prayer?, What are the results of Prayer?, Obstacles to Prayer, Why Journal, and Tips on keeping a Journal. These first pages give a glimpse of what the importance is of having a prayer journal.

It also contains a Prayer List for the important aspects of your life that you want to consistently pray about. For example, under The World, The Nation, and The Church, I wrote Leaders because we need to pray for the leaders of all three governing bodies. Then we have lists for Family and Friends, Personal, and Others.

There are a few pages for Confessions. This page is to write all the wrong things, major or minor sins, that we have committed, as we aim for forgiveness and turning back from it. 1 John 1:9 🙂

Then there’s a few pages for Revelations. This could be simple truths you’ve learned in your devotion, or God revealed something to you through the day, week, or month. It may not matter so much that moment He has revealed something to you, but this might just come in handy when you need encouraging!

Now this part is the real deal. This is where you’ll be writing your heart out in prayer to the Lord. There’s a space for scripture, your prayer, God’s Answers, and some Notes (prolly little lessons you learn along the way while praying). I’ve filled out a few days in here already and I can’t help but be surprised with the way it feels. I feel so overwhelmed with the answered prayers for the past days, no matter how simple they may be.

The last part of the Prayer Journal is a series of pages for Notes. I think there’s no right or wrong for whatever you will write here. Maybe some thoughts, lyrics of a hymn or spiritual song maybe. Whatever floats your boat!

I’ve been using it since the day it was shipped to me and I can only try my best to describe how this is slowly keeping me closer to God. I admit I’ve been missing out on some days to pray but keeping a journal really encourages me to look forward to my prayers and their answers. And I hope to impart to you that great blessing that’s why you have to read on the next parts!!!

My friends over at Certified Positive are generous enough to give away two (2) Prayer Journals!!! All you have to do is follow the instructions below:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

I’ll be choosing two winners who will each be receiving a Certified Positive Prayer Journal. This giveaway is open to Philippine residents only. Giveaway ends on September 25, 2015!

You can check their website if you want more details about the Prayer Journal. The Certified Positive Planner costs P195 + the shipping fee, depending if you’re in or outside Manila. Check out Certified Positive’s accounts: Website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Having your own prayer journal is so important because for me, as a Christian, it can help me to grow in my prayer life as well as my spiritual life and to dig deeper in my relationship with Christ. Of course we can’t always remember everything we have read, so keeping a journal can help just by flipping through it and look back what God had revealed to you the moment you read the passage(s). And just like you, I can keep track of the things I’m praying for and see that God really answers prayers and how He’s been so faithful to me in how He answers my prayers in His time.

A member in our church once shared that she’s listing all her prayers too in a notebook and cross them out once answered. Since then, I’ve been wanting to have a list of prayer requests, too. But I haven’t done it. I have myself a simple notebook for my daily devotion in which I write the things I learned from the Word and how I can apply them in my spiritual life. But these past weeks (or months I think), I haven’t been writing on my journal and I eventually stopped on my devotion. 🙁 I’ve been praying to God for the restoration and that I can continue having my daily devotion and develop a deeper relationship with Him. This post somehow serves as a wake up call for me.
And with that, I’m joining. 😀
    God bless, Ate Rej! ?

Keeping a prayer journal is important because sa busy lifestyle ng tao nakakalimutan na ang magpray at kung ano o sino ang ipagpepray. Kaya itong Journal ay maganda sa pagremind for whatever prayer requests should be prayed.

  • Reply Dani September 11, 2015 at 7:59 am

I don’t actually keep a prayer journal but I do think it’s much more effective to have everything listed down, in terms of memory. We had a guest in the church a few months ago who also suggested to write Bible verses beside each item so we can see: 1) if it’s aligned with God’s will and 2) what His promises are about it.

I’ve been slacking on my prayer life lately, a little distracted, and I think this can help a bit in organizing my thoughts.

Wow what a nice idea. I don’t really keep a prayer journal but I think it can be therapeutic for a lot of people.

Why do you think keeping a prayer journal is important? As a Christ’s follower, prayer journal is one of the utmost important thing that we need to do, practice and eventually doing it as a lifestyle. For me, it is an act of taking our prayer life and intimacy with Christ more seriously. Having it written on a journal, sharing, and documenting every detail and concern of our prayer whether it is a simple or impossible is what makes our Christian life journey surprising yet exciting. I started making a bullets of prayer request and prayers just this year, February to be exact. I am really happy, how God answered my prayers. I learn to be more patient when He says no for an answer or even WAIT for it is not yet His timing. But to be honest, I am really struggling on my Prayer Journal thing EVERY SINGLE DAY, because I have to admit that I am also a human who is able to procrastinate in doing things. But, I think Certified positive just created a wonderful thing that can help us on our prayer journal problems! hihi. I JUST LOVE IT!

Keeping a prayer journal is a very hard job because not all the people know what prayer can really do to change our entire life. Prayer Journal is also a big help if we cannot tell God what we really feel in any situation. Prayer Journal is also a help for us to know what changes God can do to us by reading it again for next year. ? As the Bible say: Pray without ceasing.

Thanks po Ms. Rej for the opportunity! God Bless!

As a Christian it’s really important to have a Prayer Journal because it is where you can write all of God’s promises to you and it can help you keep track of those answered prayers showing more of God’s Faithfulness in your life. Prayer is vital in our lives as we journey with the Lord and wait until the time we meet Him face to face, and putting our prayers into writing is one good way to make us aware of His presence in our everyday lives, thus, helping us to seek HIM more and more. 🙂

The Lord is glad when we talk to Him especially when we also fully surrender unto Him. I believe that keeping a prayer journal is important since it’s also an act of faith. For we write down the deepest desires of our hearts, casting our cares to Him and praying for the people we love. And then we can get His answers through His Word so we must meditate it day and night. I also recommend that we record the Bible verses that speak to us the most. When we have our own record of our journey of faith, then we have something we can always trace back and forth that can always uplift us through God’s promises. This journal is a witness of a great testimony of how incredible God’s ways are in our lives.

I’m hoping to get this one from Certified Positive 🙂 Thank you and God bless!

it’s really important to have one coz I believe that everybody had a tendency of having short-term memory 🙂 a big help for us to be reminded of our prayer requests, which one was answered or to be thankful for, or which of our prayers still wasn’t answered (so we could pray for it harder). as a compilation also of our spiritual journey w/ Jesus, that will refresh us as we look back. prayer journal is one of the proofs about God’s love & faithfulness in our lives. so, I really thank Him for I enjoy every second of my life as I write on my prayer journal for His sovereignty each season of my life. more thankful to have a new one from u sissy rej 🙂 God bless!

The wonderful woman of God who first discipled me—just more than a year ago—began what she called her very own “prayer chest”. We would text her our prayer requests and she would keep track of it and include us in her prayers. Ever since, I wanted to do the same.
I love writing, and by love, i do mean LOVE writing. I switched from journals to planners upon entering college. Keeping a prayer list in a planner just doesn’t work for me, so having my own “prayer chest” just ended up as a bulleted list saved on my Memos in my phone. At first, I thought it was going alright since I check my phone more often that I reread the logs on my planner. The worst that could possibly happen happened, though: I accidentally deleted all my notes aka memos. There goes all the prayer requests my loved ones have entrusted to me.
After my baptism (from Catholicism to Christianity), I began a deeper devotion. One of our missionaries advised us to have this notebook while having our quiet (or quality) time with God, to jot down things we’ve learned, our reflections and revelations, etc. It certainly worked well as it became easier to remember what God has personally told us by going back through our notes. At the same time, I kept parts of it as a prayer journal, and a notepad during Sunday and Youth services. Frankly, it’s not so organized.
So when I found out about this Prayer Journal from Certified Positive, I knew that this was perfect for me. Everything I was doing in my current small notebook is in this compact and organized journal. It’s certainly helps having such a prayer journal as it strengthens your prayer life. Not only that, it also establishes a deeper foundation in your relationship with God. It’s like a personal journal, but you get to share this one with God.
Having a prayer journal not only keeps you tracking the things you need or want, it also reveals to you just how faithful our God is. It reminds us that God is never too stingy when we ask wholeheartedly; that He is an amazingly generous God. Moreover, it warms our hearts when we finally get to cross one out from the list. Most especially, when the prayer requests of our friends and family have been answered, it gives off a great feeling of satisfaction knowing that we all stood as one in prayer, having confidence that our God hears us. 🙂

Keeping a prayer journal is just as important as keeping a regular journal. You get to keep track of your “confessions” or wrong doings and reflect upon them. Also, because people sometimes get too preoccupied with their jobs and other stuff, they tend to forget to pray, it’s good that this prayer journal has that portion in it where we can write about our prayers. 🙂

What is the significance and advantages of having a prayer journal?
Having a prayer journal is important because it will help you grow spiritually by listing the topics you want to talk about with God. In need, there is no greater thing than talking to the One who loves you the most, not only to ask for something but to also thank Him for all the things He has done for you.
✔️ It will motivate you to talk to God everyday.
✔️ By having a checklist of answered and unanswered prayer , you will be encouraged by seeing how God works in your life. And you will come to realize that our God is alive who can hear and answer our prayers. The answer is not always YES, it can be a NO and WAIT. We just have to trust Him. (Prov. 3:5-6) 1 Thes. 5:18

Keeping a prayer journal is important because it helps you keep track on your answered, unanswered, and pending prayers. It is important to know if God answered your prayer request because it informs you how God worked in your life. Most of the time we tend to forget to thank God for blessings and answered prayers because we lost track of it so it is important to list them down and update your prayer journal daily. 🙂
