A Make-Up Noob’s Wishlist

October 14, 2015

I’ve admitted a couple of times in this blog how much of a make-up noob I am (refer to these two posts, here and here). I’ve slowly been trying to come out of my shell and be more interested in and comfortable with make-up (not that it’s a requirement in blogging). Some of the bloggers I follow really amaze me with their make-up skills that they really inspire me to at least learn the basics.

As a newbie with this, I know it’s really difficult to start somewhere and learn. We all know some quality and known beauty products are too pricey and if you’re only starting, I think it would really be a waste if you accidentally deform or destroy (sorry for the lack of a better term) the product(/s) you’ve bought. So I got really giddy and all when I visited SammyDress and found that they sell a lot of beauty and care products at a bargain price!

So you might be wondering, what could a make-up noob like me be interested in? Well for starters, I’d like to have a set of good quality brushes!

This 7pcs Makeup Brush Set with Candy Color Leather Case! I love how it comes with a handy case and according to the description here, it includes all the brushes you need for daily make-up use. I srsly have to get myself acquainted with those!

I’m not really a bright color type of person that’s why this 88 Colors Warm Makeup Set Professional Box Eyeshadow Pallete caught my attention (more about this product here). I see how some people can make wonders out of a number of eyeshadows and I would love to try it out for myself. It also might come in handy on special occasions and yes, by special occasions I mean weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations.

Last but not the least, this cute Soft Sponge Powder Cosmetic Puff. Aside from green, this sponge has more colors available, seven (7) others, to be exact. I’ve seen sponges in different make-up tutorials I try to watch (but never had the luxury of both time and products to apply it).

Well that’s it for my noob wishlist. Hoping I could actually purchase these products soon and start learning about the basics of make-up.

If you’re interested, SammyDress does not only offer beauty products but a variety of other stuff. You might want to check it out one of these days.

What else can you recommend for a make-up noob like me? 🙂

I’m much more of a newbie than you kasi with my interest in make up, I have no idea how to use those.. haha. That sponge thing, never knew meron din pala by other brands. Only heard of the one from Beauty Blender? Shaped like an egg or a teardrop, di ko gets para saan siya but it looked cute.. had to stop myself from buying it. :))

I guess what I’d recommend is a good primer? Like the products you apply to pamper and ready your face (that apparently we should treat like a canvas, then the make up stuff as artsy tools for the face?? haha) first before applying makeup. Moisturizer din pala! That’s important daw. Look for one na magiging breathable pa rin yung skin after you put that and then the makeup so you won’t breakout.

Wow, Anna. Sa lagay na ‘to, mas noob ka pa sa akin? 🙁 Haha. IDEK how to use these stuff I still have to learn! As for the good primer, I’ll ask around or research what might be good. 🙂 I use Nivea creme as moisturizer before applying anything on my face.

Anyway, thank you for the nice input! 🙂

I love make-up!! I actually just learned applying make-up by watching my mom do her make-up or watching and reading make-up tutorials! I always find it fun how I can change my look depending on my mood just by playing with make-up. Personally, I love having different make-up brushes, it’s like I like collecting them haha! Also, sponges are amaaaazing. Every girl using make-up should have one 🙂

I really wanna get the beauty blender! I’m not a noob but I don’t know much about makeup techniques like the proper contouring and blending. Brushes are a good investment.

I’ve been wanting to buy the Real Techniques Brush set. But I’m afraid I’ll let my money go to waste since IDRK know anything! HAHA.
